BIOFLEX Laser Therapy is pleased to announce that we are the new preferred providers of laser therapy for the BC Physiotherapy Association. This member benefit program will help promote the benefits of laser therapy (also known as photobiomodulation therapy or PBMT) in conjunction with gold standard physiotherapy rehabilitation resulting in superior clinical outcomes. Clinical trials for many commonly treated MSK conditions like shoulder impingement have shown combining PBMT and exercises results in greater improvement in pain and function.*

Our mission statement:

To provide professional association membership to physiotherapists by promoting excellence in education, research, and practice among our nationwide membership to improve the health and wellness of Canadians.

BIOFLEX laser therapy is highly effective in the treatment of all musculoskeletal conditions including arthritis, soft tissue and sports injuries, nerve and wound healing, lymphedema and a wide range of inflammatory conditions. BIOFLEX systems are currently being used in over 52 countries by a broad range of healthcare professionals including physiotherapists and has a 30+ year history clinical success.

PBMT is a form of light therapy that utilizes non-ionizing forms of light sources, including lasers, LEDs, and broadband light, in the visible and infrared spectrum. It is a non-thermal process (<500 mW) involving endogenous chromophores that elicit photophysical and photochemical events at various biological scales resulting in beneficial therapeutic outcomes including but not limited to the alleviation of pain or inflammation, immunomodulation, and promotion of wound healing and tissue regeneration.

BIOFLEX® systems use both Class 3b lasers as well as large surface sequential bicolour red and near infrared LED arrays which stimulate a large volume of circulating blood and underlying tissues resulting in powerful systemic and direct photobiomodulation effects. 90% of the treatment is hands-free and combined with our BIOFLEX® Practitioner+ software, allows for quick access to target pathology-specific conditions with pre-programmed protocols and the ability to customize all parameters to personalize patient treatments.
